What is Sequoyah Youth Track and Field Club? The Sequoyah Youth Track Club is located in Cherokee County Georgia and has been in existence for over 13 years and stands out as a very successful track club. During this time, we have helped hundreds of youths realize enjoyment in running, throwing, jumping and levels of performance they wouldnt have thought possible. We have helped numerous young athletes compete successfully at the state, regional and even national level. Sequoyah Youth Track Club (SYTC) is affiliated with, USA Track and Field and Junior Olympics. Our Mission Our Mission is to encourage and help young people develop: 1. Physically: by learning skills related to the sport of track and field and improving their physical conditioning. 2. Emotionally: by building their feelings of self-esteem by recognizing their individual achievements. 3. Socially: by having fun, forming bonds of friendships and learning good sportsmanship. 4. Technically: by learning the fundaments of track and field and following through to participate at the High School level. Coaching Philosophy First and foremost, our coaches place the emotional and physical well being of the athletes ahead of any personal desires or ambitions. We are here to help the individual athlete enjoy running rather than promote the club. Our coaching philosophy lets each person run the way they feel. We want to build runners, not exhaust them or burn them out. We encourage them to set goals for themselves. When they want to work hard, we are ready to work with them. |
